Another innovative development from Microsoft is, The Virtual Earth platform. The application  is another API that delivers  flexible development tools and functionality to enable customers to  connect and visualize business information.

The key features of this product are:

  • Bird’s Eye Views and Bird’s Eye Hybrid. It can help you view maps from a bird’s vantage point, and  Bird’s Eye Hybrid, on the other hand, adds street names to the bird’s eye maps to provide better visual context and orientation.
  • Aerial Imagery and 3D Imagery. Now you can enjoy high-resolution aerial images and create 3D views.
  • Shapes and  Layers. You can use HTML and CSS to customize how the  maps present pushpin and information box details.
  • Geocoding and Reverse Geocoding. Find the exact address on a map using the longitude and latitude coordinates.
  • Driving Directions with Traffic-based Routing. It optimizes driving directions with step by step instructions and you can alsochoose alternate routes based on real time traffic flows.
    Walking Directions. Now its easier to look for  the most direct route to walk to a destination.
